Learn to Ride a Motorcycle Beginner Course includes:

Requirements:
Must an able bodied person;
Must be at least 16 years of age;
Must be a licensed motorcycle rider who has a moderate degree of riding experience;
Should understand English;
Back 2 Basics Training is conducted as one lesson over a period of a day;
Training Attendees to report at 08:15 to commence Training at 08:30;
Maximum of 10 Candidates per Back 2 Basics Training, minimum of 3;
Each Rider is to attend by using his/her own Licensed and Roadworthy Motorcycle;
Riding Gear to be worn at all times during training;
Meals, Coffee, Tea etc. not supplied. Attendees to provide their own;

What does the training entail:
Slow Riding Exercises Conducted;
The fundamentals of Motorcycle Riding are explained and executed in numerous riding exercises;
Emergency Maneuvers explained and extensively exercised

Requirements:

  • Be able to ride a bicycle.

Is a Code A and Code A1 riders licence the same?

  • No, a Code A1 licence allows anyone older than 16 to ride a motorcycle or scooter with an engine capacity not exceeding 125cc.
  • The Code A licence allows anyone 18 and older to ride a motorcycle or scooter with an engine capacity of any size. It also allows the operation of a motorcycle with a sidecar, a motortricycle and a motor quadrucycle.
  • Take note that if you pass the Code A Licence on a motocycle with an automatic or semi-automatic gearbox, your licence will be restricted to only riding motocycles with those gearboxes.
  • Passing the Code A Motorcycle Licence with a manual gearbox will allow you to use and legally ride any motorcycle with any type of gearbox.
