Course Outline

Principles of first aid and safety.

Artificial Respiration.

CPR adult – one and two rescuers, CPR child, and infant.

Adult, child and infant choking (conscious and unconscious).

Wounds and bleeding; fractures; joint injuries and rescue carries; burns; shock; unconsciousness; fainting and fits; head and spinal injuries; chest injuries; chest pain and paralysis; pelvic and abdominal injuries; hand injuries; eye injuries.

Management of foreign objects.

Multiple injury management.

Environmental illnesses and injuries.

Poisoning, bites, and stings.

Elementary and applied anatomy and soft tissue injury.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • NQF level 3
